Q: What services do you offer?
A: Family History Publishers, Inc. does everything necessary to prepare the manuscript for publishing, including editing, typing, formatting, photo processing, printing, binding, etc.
Q: What kinds of books do you publish?
A: All kinds, such as history books for family histories, town histories, company histories, biographies, vacation excursions. Also school reunion booklets, poetry books, science books, etc. They may be published in hard binding, soft binding, perfect binding, and saddle-wire stapling, and all in any desired size, color, and quality.
Q: Can you supply a ball-park figure or average cost of a published book?
A: No. There is no such thing. However, we can give you a free cost estimate if we know the size of the book (8.5" x 11", 6"x9", etc.), the number of pages, the number and type of photographs, the number of copies, etc. To request a free quote click on the following link: Free Estimate
Q: Can you supply me a sample of your published work?
A: Yes! Just ask for it. There is a $25.00 deposit which will be returned.
Q: What do I need to send in to publish a book?
A: You may send us your manuscript as a printout, or you may send it to us on a computer disk. If it is on a disk it may be formatted and scanned in any word processor format - Macintosh, DOS, Windows, etc. Please include the font types. It is even better if you can supply it as a PDF or a PostScript file, though this is not required. You may scan the photographs at 300dpi on the same disk as the text or on a separate disk at 600dpi for better quality color photos. You may also send us the originals. Send us a hard print copy of your manuscript, however, even if you send it to us as a computer file.
